Flu vaccinations 2024

We currently still have stock of the flu vaccination and eligible patients can receive it safely at our practice. We encourage as many of our eligible patients as possible to schedule an appointment by contacting flu.roseneath@wales.nhs.uk or by calling 01244 550555 if you do not have email access. Please include your name, date of birth and your availability on weekdays in your email. 

We are grateful to all of our eligible patients who have attended their flu vaccinations. It is crucial to get vaccinated to protect yourself and others.

Eligible cohorts for the influenza (flu) season in 2024 to 2025

 The groups eligible for a flu vaccine in Wales as part of the routine national flu programme in 2024 to 2025 will be as follows:

  • children aged two and three years on 31 August 2024
  • school aged children from reception to year 11 (inclusive)
  • people aged 6 months to 64 years in a clinical risk group 
  • people aged 65 years and older (age on 31 March 2025)
  • all adult residents in Welsh prisons
  • pregnant women
  • carers of a person whose health or welfare may be at risk if the carer falls ill
  • frontline health and care workers
  • people experiencing homelessness
  • household contacts of the immunocompromised 

 

COVID-19 vaccinations 2024

Our weekend COVID-19 vaccination clinics have now finished and we no longer have a supply of the vaccination in stock. Eligible patients can still obtain a vaccination through the Health Board should you they wish to do so. We encourage all eligible patients to book an appointment by contacting the Health Board on 03000 840 004 (please see the below for eligibility). We are grateful to everyone who attended our clinics and helped protect our community.

Groups eligible for a COVID-19 vaccine in autumn 2024

For autumn 2024, the following groups will be eligible for a single dose of

Covid-19 vaccine:

• people aged 6 months to 64 years in a clinical risk group, as defined in

tables 3 and 4 of the COVID-19 chapter of the Green Book (which

includes pregnant women and the immunosuppressed)

• residents in a care home for older adults

• people aged 65 years and older (age on 31 March 2025)

• all adult residents in Welsh prisons

• unpaid carers

• frontline health and social care workers

• Staff working in care homes for older adults

• people experiencing homelessness
