We are pleased to announce that this Autumn, Roseneath have been selected to offer COVID-19 vaccinations and we shall be holding four weekend clinics in October:
Eligible patients will be invited directly to one of our clinics by letter via the Health Board.
Around 3,400 Roseneath patients qualify for a COVID-19 vaccination and therefore, we would encourage as many of you as possible to attend the appointment that you are offered.
Patients who qualify for COVID-19 also qualify for a flu vaccination and in line with guidance and our delivery in 2022, we will be administering both vaccinations at your COVID-19 appointment.
The start of vaccine delivery has been delayed this year until October due to evidence that the effectiveness can wane throughout Winter if given too early (JCVI - Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation).
The JCVI has not recommended any changes to the eligibility criteria which applied for the 2023 to 2024 programme. Therefore, the groups eligible for a flu vaccine in Wales as part of the routine national flu programme in 2024 to 2025 will be as follows:
For autumn 2024, the following groups will be eligible for a single dose of
Covid-19 vaccine:
• people aged 6 months to 64 years in a clinical risk group, as defined in
tables 3 and 4 of the COVID-19 chapter of the Green Book (which
includes pregnant women and the immunosuppressed)
• residents in a care home for older adults
• people aged 65 years and older (age on 31 March 2025)
• all adult residents in Welsh prisons
• unpaid carers
• frontline health and social care workers
• Staff working in care homes for older adults
• people experiencing homelessness
